What it is

Tin-up is a revolutionary spray tanning system. Quick and easy to apply, anybody can achieve a natural and even face and body tan, whatever the time of year.

This completely natural product is made in Italy, and when applied with the special nozzle, instantly gives the skin a gorgeous bronze tan, as if you had been soaking up the Caribbean sun.

But that’s not all. Its natural formula also hydrates the skin, leaving it delicately soft, velvety and beautiful.

The Tin-up system

Tin-up is composed of two main elements: the spray gun and the tanning solution.

The spray gun sprays the solution evenly, ensuring the liquid is applied smoothly to the skin. Learn all the tricks and have a fantastic tan, whatever the time of year.
As it is wireless (the battery is rechargeable from the mains), you can take it with you wherever you go.

The tanning solution, the heart of Tin-up, is available in two strengths: BRONZE for fair skin tones; and EXTRA DARK for darker skin tones. Both are made from the same basic formula, DHA, a natural sugar cane extract.

Each pack contains a 50 ml sample of the desired solution.
150 ml refill packs are sold separately from all Tin-up retailers.

The tanning solution

The tanning solution’s active ingredients come from DHA, a natural extract derived from sugar cane. This reacts naturally with the keratin found in the outermost surface of the skin (the layer subject to natural exfoliation), and produces a tone very similar to that produced by exposure to the sun, but without any toxicity or side effects, and without inducing the production of melanin. That’s what makes Tin-up completely different from traditional sun tans or sun lotions.
Please note, when exposed to the sun even after using Tin-up, apply sun lotion as normally advised.

Between 2 and 6 hours after the initial application, the tan will develop and intensify.

Each individual application provides a “tanned” effect that can last for between 3 and 7 days before gradually fading and completely disappearing. The duration of the tan will depend on your skin type and the number of applications.

As the most advanced tanning product, the lotion is paraben free, streak free and yellow/orange tan free, and it leaves your skin even more radiant.
It is important to note that Tin-up can be used by everybody, especially those with a low tolerance to sun exposure, those who are worried about skin blemishes or the aging of the skin, and those who simply don’t have the time to go to the beach and soak up the summer sun.

Does Tin-up have any contraindications?

No, because it is made from DHA, which is derived from sugar and only colours the outermost layer of the skin. In other words, the tanning effect is not created by a chemical reaction with melanin. The colorant washes away about 8 hours after application, when the DHA has permanently penetrated the skin.

Is the tanning solution natural and safe?

Yes, as mentioned above it is derived from DHA, a natural extract of sugar cane, which has intrinsic coloration properties. It is also alcohol free. This solution has been approved by the FDA and has been used in the cosmetics industry for over 20 years. Before applying it to your whole body, it is recommended to test it on a small area of skin

What are the ingredients of the tanning solution?

Is Tin-up a sun tan lotion?

Tin-up is not a sun tan lotion, and therefore is not a substitute for sun lotions. Firstly, it does not have any type of reaction with the effects of the sun’s rays, and secondly, it does not provide any protection against ultraviolet radiation. We recommend taking all the necessary precautions when exposed to the sun after having used Tin-up, to prevent potential harm caused by sun exposure (sunburn, allergies, etc.).

Is it necessary to prepare the skin before using Tin-up?

The skin should be cleaned and free from creams/lotions and make-up. For best results (both application and tan duration), we suggest having a shower and exfoliating the skin using a suitable sponge before application.

Is it necessary to protect your hair before using Tin-up?

Tin-up does not colour hair, however, if you want to avoid your hair coming into contact with Tin‑up, we recommend using a shower cap or a dark towel.

What should I do after applying the product?

In order to not even slightly jeopardise or inhibit the tanning effect, it is recommended to avoid any skin contact with water or substances that could hinder the colouring action of DHA (sweat, moisturising lotions etc.). It is therefore a good idea to avoid any activity that could cause excessive sweating. We also recommend wearing dark clothes for at least 8 hours after application.

What is the difference between Tin-up BRONZE and Tin-up EXTRA DARK?

Essentially, Tin-up BRONZE and Tin-up EXTRA DARK have a different tanning action. Tin-up BRONZE gives fair skin tones (phototype I and II) an intense, bronze tan, whilst Tin-up EXTRA DARK does exactly the same for darker skin tones (phototype III and IV). People of fair complexion, who desire a more intense tan, can also use the EXTRA DARK formulation.

Could Tin-up produce unnatural skin tones (yellow/orange)?

This is the first problem that Tin-up has brilliantly overcome. The tan that you get after application is exactly the same as if you had soaked up the Caribbean sun. It also fades evenly and the skin maintains a natural sun tan look.

How long does the tan last?

It depends on your skin type and the number of applications. Under normal conditions the duration of the tan with Tin-up varies from 3 to 7 days.

Can the duration of the tan be extended beyond 3/7 days?

Absolutely, by re-applying the spray two or three days after the initial application.

What should I do if I apply too much?

The Tin-up spray nozzle has been specially designed to ensure a smooth, even, application. However, if you linger too long on a particular area, it is possible to apply too much solution, forming darker streaks or droplets. If this happens, simply remove the solution from the affected area with a tissue and re-spray.

Can you sunbathe after having used Tin-up?

Yes, bearing in mind that Tin-up offers no protection from the sun’s rays. Therefore, if exposed to the sun after having used Tin-up, it is recommended to take the same precautions as you would under normal circumstances. We emphasise the fact that Tin-up is not a sun tan lotion, even though the aesthetic results are identical.

Does Tin-up stain furniture and textiles?

In general, we recommend using Tin-up away from furniture and items of value. As it has a colouring action, we do not know how some materials (wood, fabric, terracotta tiles etc.) could react upon contact with the product. In order to avoid any possibility of staining, we recommend laying a protective sheet on the floor before spraying, or applying the tanning solution in the shower.

How should light-coloured clothing that has been accidentally stained with the solution be washed?

It is not necessary to use any particular cleaning product as the stains will disappear in a normal wash.

Is it necessary to clean the nozzle after each use?

Yes. To ensure the product works correctly without blockages, and to AVOID INVALIDATING THE WARRANTY, after each use with a maximum 30 ml of solution, the tank must be filled with 10-15 ml of hot water and sprayed (see service manual). This ensures that the solution flows freely when applied and helps to keep the tubes clean.
